Roofing contractor for the Greater Houston Area · since 2013
The Houston roofer who tells you when you do not need a roof
Thirteen years across the Greater Houston Area. More than 5,000 roofs. Not one complaint filed with the Better Business Bureau since 2013. We publish our prices, we do not carry a hammer to an inspection, and we take nothing upfront — not because it is good marketing, but because of something we saw a dishonest contractor do to somebody. That story is here.
Nothing upfront. 50% when the crew arrives, 50% on completion. If we cannot guarantee the repair work, we do not want your money — and if the problem returns, so will we.

Eleven services, each with the price where there is one. If what you need is a $225 pipe boot rather than a new roof, we will say so — that is the whole reason the inspection is free.

Larger and steeper roofs take two. We tell you which before we start.

TPO, PVC and modified bitumen fail differently, and are repaired differently.
Roof financing
A roof rarely fails at a convenient moment. Understanding your insurance claim
Texas hail claims turn on documentation. We inspect, photograph every affected slope, and we are there when your adjuster walks the roof — so what gets approved matches what is actually damaged.
- Full damage inspection, slope by slope
- Photographs and a written scope your insurer can act on
- We meet the adjuster on the roof, with you
Filing and negotiating is licensed public-adjuster work. A roofer cannot do it.
Roof repairs
We find where the water actually gets in — rarely where the ceiling stain is — photograph it, and show you before quoting anything. Minor leak repairs typically run $350 to $900; storm damage $900 to $2,500 and up.

Every repair price is on the site. Take them to two other companies.
Roof maintenance
Inspections and tune-ups that catch small leaks before they reach the decking. Roof tune-up from $199.
- Inspections
- Tune-ups
Left alone it becomes decking, then insulation, then a ceiling.
Full replacement
When it is time to get your roof replaced, we install it with GAF materials and a workmanship warranty. Most roofs are finished in a single day.
- New roof
- Materials
Six per shingle, not four. The ring shank grips so nails do not back out.
Gutter systems
Installation, repair and cleaning, so water leaves the roof instead of sitting on it. Gutter tune-up from $149.
- Cleaning
- Installation
Standard 2×3 downspouts choke on pine needles and leaf litter.
Siding
Vinyl and fiber cement siding installation and replacement — a separate service, quoted separately, never bundled onto a roof job.
- Vinyl siding
- Fiber cement
If siding appears on a roof quote without you asking, ask why.
Leak detection
Finding where water actually enters, which is rarely where the ceiling stain is. We photograph what we find before quoting anything.
- Diagnosis
- Small leaks
Water tracks along the decking before it shows. The stain is not the source.
Pine needle removal
Tomball, Magnolia and The Woodlands sit under heavy pine canopy. Needles pack into valleys, hold water against the shingles, and rot the decking underneath.
- Valley cleaning
- Seasonal
They mat together and hold water against the shingles long after the rain stops.
Emergency roofing · 365 days a year
Emergency Roof Repair Across the Greater Houston Area
Call and we typically reach you within 2 to 4 hours, any day of the year. The first job is always the same: get a tarp down and stop water entering the house. Once it is dry, we show you what failed and talk about the permanent repair — not before.
-
Storm damage
Hail, wind and hurricane damage. We tarp the openings, photograph every affected slope, and document the damage for your insurer while the evidence is fresh. Storm repairs typically run $900 to $2,500 and up.
-
Leak detection & repair
Water rarely enters where the ceiling stain appears. We trace it to the actual entry point, stop it the same visit, then fix it properly. Minor leak repairs typically run $350 to $900.
-
Structural emergencies
Sagging decking, a collapsed ceiling section, or a tree through the roof. We stabilize the structure first and keep people out of the affected rooms until it is safe.
Do not wait on these
Four signs it has stopped being something to schedule
-
Active water leaks
Dripping, water running down a wall, or pooling on a ceiling. Put a bucket under it, move what you can, and call — this one does not wait until morning.
Get emergency help → -
Sagging roof deck
A visible dip or wave in the roofline means the decking underneath has taken on water and lost strength. Stay out of the rooms below it until someone has looked.
Structural repairs → -
Damage after a storm
Missing shingles, granules in the gutters, a hole, or branches on the roof. Photograph it before anything gets cleaned up — that is what your claim will rest on.
Storm damage & claims → -
Interior water stains
A new brown ring on the ceiling, or an old one that has grown. Mark the edge in pencil with today’s date — if it spreads past the line, the leak is active.

Water damage compounds quickly. A leak caught the same day is usually a repair. Two weeks later it is drywall, insulation and framing. If you are unsure whether it is urgent, call and describe it — we will tell you honestly.
No worries, just quality.
The integrity promise
Our promise is simple: if the problem returns, so will we.
Most roofers are focused on the sale. Our focus is on the after — the years when a roof either holds or does not. That is why customers call us back, and why we answer.
-
Transparency, no hidden agendas
The number on your estimate is the number you pay. The only things that move it are the ones we told you about before we started — decking beyond the included sheets, or a second layer nobody could see. We show you both, photographed, before we replace anything.
No high-pressure sales
-
Partnership beyond the project
The relationship runs on for years through maintenance and inspections. When a leak appears, or it is time to get the roof replaced, we pick up.

Speed with precision
Most roofs are finished in a single day. Larger or more complex jobs take two — and so do the ones where we find hidden damage once the old roof is off.

Roofing first, no bundling
Roofing is what we do and what we quote. We do not bundle extras onto a roof job or upsell work you did not ask about — if you want siding or gutters, that is a separate conversation and a separate price.
No upsells

Premium materials, no corners
Every shingle, nail and component meets or exceeds manufacturer specification. That is what GAF Master Elite certification requires, and it is what makes the manufacturer warranty valid.

The Family Behind Your Roofing Contractor
Jennifer and Christian Hernandez founded JC&C Roofing Company in Houston in 2013 and have served the Greater Houston Area ever since. In 2026 they moved the main office to Tomball, closer to where most of the work already was. Jennifer runs the office and daily operations as CEO. Christian handles production and works directly with customers — he has been roofing since 2009, seventeen years, and he is on your project himself. Between them they have completed more than 5,000 roofs across Tomball, Klein, Spring, Cypress, Magnolia and The Woodlands.

Our work process
The JC&C Roofing Process: Simple & Stress-Free
-
Free inspection & estimate
We walk the whole roof, get into the attic where we can, and photograph and video everything we find — then show it to you on the screen. You get a written estimate whether or not you hire us, and nobody asks for a decision that day.
-
Plan & materials
We spec the system for your roof — pitch, ventilation, and what Gulf Coast heat does to it — and go through the options with you. If there is an insurance claim, we handle the documentation and meet your adjuster on the roof.
-
Installation
Most roofs are finished in a single day. Larger or more complex jobs take two, as do the ones where we find rotten decking once the old roof is off — we show you before we replace it. The site is magnet-swept and cleared before we leave.
-
Final check & warranty
A final quality inspection, then your warranty paperwork. Our workmanship coverage runs alongside the GAF warranty and is insured through GAF — so if anything ever happened to JC&C, you would still be covered. The $250 satisfaction guarantee stands for the first five years.

Warranty & guarantee
A Warranty With a Clock on It
Two worries come up with any workmanship warranty. What if the roofer is not around when I need it — and how long will I be waiting? Ours is insured through GAF, so it survives even if we do not, and it commits to being on your roof within 24 hours of a covered leak.

Know what is covered
The three kinds of roofing warranty
Covers how the roof was installed — nailing pattern, flashing, valleys, ventilation. Most roof failures are installation problems, not material problems, which is why this is the one that matters most and the one most contractors keep short.
Covers defects in the shingles themselves, from GAF rather than from us. GAF’s lifetime limited coverage applies to materials only — it is not a lifetime workmanship warranty, and any contractor implying otherwise is overselling it.
The GAF Pledge warranties can be transferred to a buyer if you sell the house. It is one of the few home improvements that carries value to the next owner in writing.

Common questions
Roofing Questions, Answered
Twelve questions we get most often. If yours is not here, call and ask — we would rather answer it than have you guess.
When should I call for emergency roof repair after a storm?
Call straight away if you see water coming in, a ceiling stain that's spreading, missing shingles, lifted flashing, exposed decking, or a branch on the roof. After hail or high wind, get it looked at within a few days even if nothing is leaking yet '97 hail bruising often doesn't leak for months, and insurers have deadlines.
How much does roof repair cost?
Minor leak repairs typically run $350 to $900. Storm damage repairs run $900 to $2,500 and up. A roof tune-up is $199 and a gutter tune-up is $149. Cost depends on roof pitch and access, how far water has travelled, whether decking has softened, and whether a tarp is needed first.
How fast can you get here for an emergency leak?
Typical response is 2 to 4 hours, 365 days a year. A regional storm, distance, or unsafe conditions can stretch it. The first visit stops water getting in, usually with a tarp; the permanent repair follows once it's dry.
How does a roof insurance claim work in Texas?
Four steps: a free inspection documenting damage with photos and video, filing the claim with that documentation, an adjuster meeting where JC&C is on the roof with the adjuster, and repair once approved. Texas claims usually turn on whether damage is from a storm or from wear and tear, which is why documentation taken soon after the event matters.
How do I stop roof leaks before they start?
Keep flashing sound around chimneys, walls, valleys and skylights, since most leaks start there. Keep gutters and valleys clear so water leaves the roof. Replace damaged shingles before wind lifts them further. Make sure attic ventilation is working. An inspection before storm season catches most problems; a tune-up is $199.
Do you offer free roof inspections?
Yes, free and with no obligation. It includes a full roof walk, an attic check where accessible, photo and video documentation, written findings, and a repair-or-replace recommendation. You get the written findings whether or not you hire us.
How much does a new roof cost?
A typical Tomball home runs $8,000 to $20,000. By material, asphalt shingle is roughly $300 to $500 per square and metal $700 to $1,200 per square, where a square is 100 square feet. The range is wide because roof size, pitch, the number of old shingle layers being removed, whether decking needs replacing once the old roof is off, and the material chosen all move the price. JC&C's instant estimator gives a range for a specific roof from satellite measurements, and the follow-up inspection and written estimate are free with no obligation.
Should I repair my roof or replace it?
Repair usually makes sense when damage is confined to one area and the rest of the roof is sound with years left. Replacement makes more sense when shingles are near the end of their life, damage spans several slopes, decking has softened, or you're patching repeatedly. If a repair costs a meaningful fraction of a replacement on a roof already fifteen-plus years old, you're paying twice.
How long does a roof replacement take?
Most roofs are finished in a single day, including tear-off, decking check and installation. Larger or steeper roofs take two, as do jobs where rotten decking is found once the old roof is off. The site is magnet-swept before the crew leaves.
Do you offer roof financing?
Yes, through the Wells Fargo Home Projects credit card, issued by Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. Promotional 0% APR financing is available to qualified applicants and 100% financing is available. Promotional terms are set by the lender and can change.
Do pine needles damage a roof?
Yes, and it is one of the most common problems in Tomball, Magnolia and The Woodlands where pine canopy is heavy. Needles pack into valleys and behind chimneys, hold moisture against the shingles instead of letting it run off, and rot the decking underneath. Clearing valleys once or twice a year prevents nearly all of it.
What is GAF Master Elite, and does it matter?
GAF Master Elite is a certification held by roughly 2% of roofing contractors in the United States, requiring proper licensing, insurance and a documented track record. It matters because only Master Elite contractors can offer GAF's strongest warranties, and JC&C's workmanship coverage is insured through GAF '97 so coverage survives even if the contractor doesn't.
