Accessibility Statement
JC&C Roofing Company is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. This page explains where we stand, what we have done, what still needs work, and how to reach us if something on this site gets in your way.
This statement applies to myroofimprovement.com and every page on it.
If something here does not work for you
Tell us, and we will get you the information another way.
You should not have to wait for a website fix to get a roof looked at. If a page, a form or a document on this site stops you from getting what you need, call us, text us or email us and we will give you the same information in whatever form works — read to you over the phone, sent as plain text, or written out and posted to you.
We will not ask you to use a channel that does not work for you, and we will not treat it as a smaller request than any other.
Conformance status
The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are the international standard for making web content accessible. They set three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA and Level AAA.
Our current status
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
“Partially conformant” means most of the site meets the standard, and some parts do not yet. We are saying so plainly rather than claiming full conformance, because the second would not be true. The known gaps are listed further down this page.
What we have done
Work completed on this site to date includes:
- Semantic HTML throughout — headings, lists, landmarks and tables marked up as what they are, so screen readers can navigate the structure rather than reading one undifferentiated block.
- Keyboard navigation. Every interactive element — links, buttons, tabs, accordions, the estimate calculator, the ZIP checker and the contact form — can be reached and operated without a mouse.
- Visible focus indicators on every control, so a keyboard user can always see where they are.
- Correct ARIA roles and labels on tabbed sections and dialogs, with arrow-key navigation between tabs and Escape to close any dialog.
- Descriptive link text. Links say where they go. We removed the generic “Learn more” links in September 2026 for this reason.
- Alternative text on images describing what the photograph actually shows, not the keyword we would like it to rank for.
- Color contrast meeting or exceeding the Level AA ratio for body text, headings and buttons.
- Labeled form fields with errors announced to assistive technology rather than shown by color alone.
- Text that reflows at 200% zoom and on small screens without horizontal scrolling or loss of content.
- Reduced-motion support. Animations and transitions are disabled for anyone whose system is set to reduce motion.
- No auto-playing video or audio. Nothing on this site starts making noise on its own.
On-page tools
Every page carries an accessibility button in the bottom-left corner. It opens a short list of display settings you can change for this site without altering anything on your own device: four text sizes, high contrast, highlighted links, wider text spacing, and a control that pauses all motion. Your choices are saved in your own browser and are never sent to us.
It does not claim to do more than that. No button on any website can provide screen reader support or make a site conformant — that comes from how the pages are built, which is the work described above. A toolbar is a convenience, not a substitute, and we would rather say so.
Known limitations
These are the parts of the site we know do not yet fully meet Level AA. We are listing them rather than leaving you to discover them.
- Third-party review widget. The customer reviews are supplied by an external service and rendered by its own code. We do not control its markup, and some of it does not meet the standard. If you cannot read the reviews here, they are also on our Google Business Profile, and we will read them to you over the phone.
- The instant roof estimator. The satellite measurement tool is an embedded third-party application. Every estimate it produces is also available by phone, and we confirm the real figure in person at no charge regardless.
- Embedded maps. Google Maps embeds are loaded only when you choose to open them, and their internal controls are outside our control. Both office addresses are written out in text on the page above every map.
- Video. Our videos are hosted on YouTube and use its player. Captions depend on what is available for each video. Tell us which video you need and we will send you a written transcript.
- Older blog posts. Articles published before 2026 have not all been rebuilt to the current standard. We are working through them.
- PDF documents. Some older PDFs are not fully tagged for screen readers. Ask and we will send the same content as plain text or HTML.
Compatibility
This site is built to work with:
- Current versions of Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, on desktop and mobile
- VoiceOver on macOS and iOS
- NVDA and JAWS on Windows
- TalkBack on Android
- Browser zoom, system text sizing and operating-system high-contrast modes
Internet Explorer and browsers more than two major versions out of date are not supported and may not display the site correctly.
Technical specifications
Accessibility on this site relies on HTML, WAI-ARIA, CSS and JavaScript, used together with your browser and any assistive technology you have installed.
How we assess this site
We test by self-evaluation: automated auditing with Google Lighthouse and the WAVE evaluation tool, plus manual keyboard-only testing and screen-reader checks on each page as it is rebuilt.
We have not yet commissioned an independent third-party audit. We are saying so rather than implying one has taken place.
Give us feedback
If you find a barrier on this site, we want to hear about it — including the small things. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and what happened. If you use assistive technology, telling us which one helps us reproduce it.
