How we work
Water rarely enters where the ceiling stain appears. It runs along decking, follows rafters, and surfaces a room away. Patch the stain rather than the entry point and it returns next season.
Attic first where we can get in, then the roof. We photograph what we find and show you on screen before quoting anything. If we cannot find it, we do not guess.
Hail bruising and wind lift often do not leak for months. After a storm we document every affected slope, so if there is a claim you have the evidence while it is fresh.
Insurance claim helpWith water coming in, the job is stopping it — usually a tarp, typically within 2 to 4 hours. The permanent repair happens once it is dry and we can see what actually failed.
Emergency roof repairIf a roof is near the end of its life, a repair costs you the money twice. We will tell you when replacement is the cheaper decision, even though the repair would be the easier sale.

Most roofing contractors in Houston warranty a repair for three to six months. Some offer twelve. Ours runs two full years — long enough for a repair to face two storm seasons before the cover runs out.
A three-month warranty expires before the next hurricane season starts. That is the difference.

If we repair your roof and you later replace it with us, we credit up to 25% of what you paid for the repair against the price of the replacement.
Repairs completed with JC&C on or after 7 August 2026 qualify. The credit is applied to the replacement price and is available only when we carry out the replacement.
Some roofs are too old and brittle to repair properly. Patching one buys a few months and costs you the money twice.
When we see that, we say so and explain what replacement would involve. We would rather lose the job than take payment for a repair we cannot stand behind.

These are our base prices for the eighteen repairs we are asked about most. Published, so you do not have to ring round for a number.
These are base prices. What a repair actually costs depends on roof pitch and access, how far the water has travelled, and whether decking underneath has softened. A typical single-issue repair lands between $350 and $900 once those are accounted for. Storm damage across several slopes runs higher. We inspect and quote in writing before any work starts, at no charge.
One note on decking. The $180 above is for replacing a sheet during a repair, where the crew opens a section specifically to reach it. During a full roof replacement the roof is already open, so the first five sheets are free and further sheets are $90. We publish both because it is the line item quotes most often grow by after the work has started.

What happens
Four steps, and you know the price before anyone starts work.
We get into the attic where there is access, then onto the roof. Everything we find is photographed. No charge, and no obligation afterwards.
You see the photographs and the price together, in writing. If the honest answer is that the roof needs replacing rather than repairing, we say so here.
Most repairs take two to four hours. Larger work runs a day. If we open it up and find rotten decking, we show you before replacing anything.
A last inspection, then the site is magnet-swept for nails. Your 24-month repair warranty starts the day we finish.
The price does not change after the estimate unless we find something hidden — and if we do, we show you the photograph and ask before doing anything about it.
Paying for it
A roof rarely fails at a convenient moment. Financing lets the repair happen now and be paid monthly.
And if you replace later
Repair with us and we credit up to 25% of what you paid against a future replacement carried out by JC&C. Repairs completed on or after 7 August 2026 qualify.

In practice most single-issue repairs land between $350 and $900 once roof pitch, access and any hidden damage are accounted for. Storm damage across several slopes runs $900 to $2,500. Complex work such as valley flashing runs $900 to $1,300.

Usually yes, when the damage comes from a covered peril — storm, hail, wind or a falling object. Damage from age or lack of maintenance generally is not covered.
The distinction matters more in Texas than most places, because hail bruising often does not leak for months. Documentation taken soon after the storm is what separates a covered claim from a declined one. We photograph slope by slope and meet your adjuster on the roof.
Repair makes sense when the damage is confined to one area and the rest of the roof has years left. Replacement makes more sense when shingles are near the end of their life, damage spans several slopes, or the decking underneath has softened.
The honest test: if a repair costs a meaningful fraction of a replacement on a roof already fifteen-plus years old, you are paying twice. We will tell you which we would do on our own house — and we decline repairs we cannot guarantee rather than take the money.

You can, but three things usually make it a false economy. Roof work causes serious injuries every year. DIY repairs typically void the manufacturer warranty on your shingles. And the common failure is fixing the visible stain rather than the entry point, which means doing it twice.
Clearing debris from valleys and gutters is genuinely worth doing yourself. Most of the rest is not.
