One job, start to finish
Most of a roof is hidden once it is finished. These 19 photos are from one Houston replacement, in the order the work happened, so you can see the layers you will never see again.

Shingles and accessories arrive before the crew, so the work starts on time.

The old roof comes off down to the wood, so we can see what is underneath.

Soft or rotten plywood is cut out and replaced. Shingles nailed into bad wood do not hold.

The ridge is cut open so hot air can leave the attic through the ridge vent.

Metal at the roof edge sends water into the gutter instead of behind the fascia.

Valleys carry the most water, so they get a self-sealing leak barrier first.

The underlayment laps over the drip edge so water cannot get under it.

The whole deck is covered before a single shingle goes on.

Where the roof meets a wall or a pipe is where most leaks start.

Bundles go up by lift, not on someone’s shoulder up a ladder.

GAF starter shingles seal the first course along the eaves and rakes.

Each nail placed in the manufacturer’s nailing zone. This is where wind ratings are won or lost.

Every pipe penetration sealed at the flashing.

Painted so the metal does not rust and the pipes match the roof.

The open slot along the ridge before the vent covers it.

Ridge cap shingles finish the ridge and protect the vent.

The same finish runs down every hip.

Roof vents fastened and sealed.

On this job the driveway was pressure-washed before we left.

Common questions
Yes, all of them. Every photo and video on this page was taken by JC&C crews on our own jobs in Greater Houston. We do not use stock images of roofs.
Yes. We photograph each stage of a replacement, including the decking, underlayment, leak barrier and flashing, and you get copies for your records. Once the shingles are on, those layers are hidden for the life of the roof, so the photos are the only record of how it was built.
Most homes are finished in one day. Larger or more complex roofs, or homes with a lot of rotten decking, can take two. Weather can move the start date, never the quality of the work.
Very likely. We work across Greater Houston from offices in Tomball and Spring Branch. Find your area on our service areas page, or call and ask. We can usually point to a roof we have done near you.
Yes. The packages page lists every component in each package, and the certifications page explains the warranties they carry.
A free inspection, every slope photographed, and a written estimate before anything starts. Including when the answer is that your roof does not need replacing.
