Most gutter services clear the debris and leave. That fixes today's blockage and nothing else — the loose bracket, the failed joint and the section running the wrong way are all still there.
A tune-up deals with the system rather than the symptom: cleaned, tested for slope, joints sealed, hardware tightened, downspouts cleared, and the whole thing photographed.

The service
Seven Points, One Visit
Roughly ninety minutes on an average house. Everything found is photographed, whether or not it is something we can fix on the day.
Deep cleaning
Up to 100 linear feet
Everything out — leaves, pine needles, grit and the compacted sludge at the bottom that a leaf blower will not shift. Bagged and taken away, not left on the lawn.
Downspouts cleared and tested
Including the elbows
The blockage is usually in the elbow at the top or the bend at the bottom, not in the run. We clear them and then run water through to confirm it actually drains.
Slope measured
The point most services skip
A gutter needs a fall of roughly a quarter-inch every ten feet. Less and water sits in it; more and it overshoots the downspout in heavy rain. We measure the fall along the run and show you where it is out — photographed, so you can see it rather than take our word for it.
Measured, not corrected. Re-hanging a run to change its fall is a separate job and it is not part of the tune-up. If the slope is wrong we show you, tell you what correcting it involves, and quote it separately — you are never charged for finding out.
Joints and seams sealed
Leak prevention, not leak repair
Corners and joins are where gutters start dripping. We reseal them while we are up there — which is the difference between maintenance and cleaning.
Hardware tightened
Brackets, hangers and spikes
Gutters pull away from fascia gradually, and a loose section holds water where it should be carrying it. Everything gets checked and tightened.

A perfect gutter that dumps beside the slab is a foundation problem waiting. We look at where the water goes once it leaves the downspout and tell you if it needs extending.

Photographed, and yours to keep
While we are on a ladder at roof level we look at the roof edge, the fascia and the soffit. Rot behind a gutter is invisible from the ground and it is where we find it.
$149 is a starting price. It covers up to 100 linear feet on one and two-story homes on a standard pitch. Longer runs, steep or difficult access and three-story properties are quoted separately — before we start, never after.

Cleaning Is Not Maintenance
Three things get sold as gutter work in Houston and they are not the same job. Here is what separates them.

Why the cheap option is often the expensive one
A basic clean at $120 solves the blockage. It does not touch the joint that has been dripping onto the fascia for two years, the bracket that came loose in a storm, or the twenty-foot run that has settled and now holds water at one end.
Those are what actually damage a house. The blockage is the symptom; the system is the problem.
What it costs to leave
- Rotten fascia — replacement, priming and painting, per section
- Soffit damage — often taking attic ventilation with it
- Siding and trim rot — where overflow runs down the wall
- Foundation movement — Houston clay, water beside the slab
Every one of those costs multiples of a tune-up, and none of them starts as anything more dramatic than a gutter that was not draining properly.

Gutter Tune-Up Questions
How often do Houston gutters need doing?
Twice a year for most houses — once in spring, once in fall before the leaves drop.
Under pine canopy it is different. Needles fall year-round rather than seasonally, so The Woodlands, Spring, Kingwood, Tomball and Magnolia usually need quarterly clearing. Needles also mat together rather than washing out, which is why they block gutters faster than leaves.
Why not just clean them myself?
Because of the ladder, not the gutters. Around 500,000 people a year are treated for ladder injuries in the US, roughly 300 of those falls are fatal, and most fatal falls are from ten feet or less — which is gutter height.
The two common causes are the base slipping from a bad angle and overreaching sideways instead of climbing down to move the ladder. Both happen when someone is trying to finish one more section.
What you can do safely from the ground: watch where the gutter overflows during heavy rain. That tells you exactly where the blockage is.
What if my gutters are longer than 100 feet?
Quoted before we start. $149 covers up to 100 linear feet on one and two-story homes; beyond that we price the additional run and tell you the figure when you book, not when we arrive.
Most single-story Houston homes fall inside 100 feet. Larger homes and wrap-around runs usually do not.
What if you find rotten fascia?
We photograph it, show you, and quote it separately. Fascia repair is carpentry rather than gutter work, so it is not in the tune-up price.
It is also the single most common thing we find behind a neglected gutter, which is why the roof edge inspection is part of the service rather than an extra.
Do you install gutters, or only maintain them?
Both. If a run is beyond sealing and tightening we will say so rather than take $149 to postpone the inevitable. Gutter installation and repair.
Can you do this at the same time as a roof tune-up?
Yes, and it is usually the sensible way to do it — one visit, one setup, and the roof edge gets looked at from both sides.
Before you book
Service Terms, Stated Up Front
Not the small print at the bottom of an invoice. If any of these apply to your house, it is better to know now than when a crew is standing on your driveway.
Cannot be done
Gutter Cover Helmet systems
If you have a Gutter Helmet or similar full-cover system installed, this service cannot be completed. The covers are fixed to the roof edge and removing them is a different job entirely.
Call us anyway — there may be something we can do, but it will not be this service at this price.
Possible, with a warning
LeafGuard systems
The service can be performed for an additional charge. But doing so may void your warranty with LeafGuard — their coverage generally requires their own technicians to service the system.
Check your LeafGuard paperwork before booking. We would rather you kept the warranty than gave us $149.
Additional charge
Screens and micro-mesh
Any type of gutter screen or micro-mesh can be worked around, but it has to come off and go back on. That is charged at $1.50 per linear foot on top of the service price.
Tell us when you book and the figure is in your quote, not added afterwards.
The rest of it
- One per household The promotional rate is limited to one service per household.
- One and two-story homes only Three-story properties are excluded, for the same reason we do not walk brittle roofs — the risk is not worth the job.
- Accessible gutters Where a ladder cannot be safely set — over a pool, a steep bank, or obstructed by structure — we may need to quote differently or decline.
- Up to 100 linear feet Longer runs are quoted before we start.
- Repairs are separate Sealing joints and tightening hardware is included. Replacing a section, repairing fascia, or re-hanging a run to correct its slope is not.
If we find something outside the scope, we stop and show you. Work halts, you see the photographs, you get an estimate at no charge, and you decide whether anything else happens. We do not carry on and invoice you for it afterward.
If the honest answer is that your gutters need replacing rather than maintaining, we will say so rather than take $149 to postpone it.
