Storm & Hail Roof Damage Repair in Houston
Roof damaged in a storm? We tarp within 2 to 4 hours to stop water getting in, document everything for your insurer while the evidence is fresh, and meet your adjuster on the roof.
If water is coming in right now
(713) 766-3464 713-ROOFING · Tomball & northwest (281) 498-7663 281-498-ROOF · Houston & inner loop- Tarped first, repaired properly after. Stopping the water comes before anything else.
- Documented slope by slope. Photographs dated close to the storm are what a fair claim is built on.
- We meet your adjuster on the roof, so both parties are looking at the same damage.
- We will tell you if you have no claim. Filing one you will lose can count against you.
- Replaced with a Class 4 roof. Timberline UHDZ carries the highest UL 2218 impact rating — built for the hail that took the last one.
When a claim is approved
Your Insurer Pays for the Roof You Had. We Build a Better One.
A claim settlement covers replacing what was there. It does not decide which contractor installs it, which shingle goes on, or what warranty you are left holding — and those are the parts that matter for the next thirty years. Storm damage roof repair Houston.
What we register on an approved claim
GAF Golden Pledge with Timberline UHDZ
The top of GAF's warranty range short of President's Club — and the combination that carries the longest workmanship coverage GAF offers outside it. Not an upgrade we sell you. What we register.
Hail took your roof off. The replacement is built for hail.
Timberline UHDZ with UltraMat carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact-resistance rating — the highest of the four classes. To earn it, a 2-inch steel ball is dropped onto the shingle twice from twenty feet and it must show no cracking.
Most Houston roof claims are hail claims. Replacing a damaged roof with the same grade of shingle means the next storm does the same thing. This does not.
Class 4 attracts the highest insurance credit of the four classes — TDI says so directly. How much is set by your carrier, not by the state, and it is never applied automatically. We provide the UL 2218 documentation; you have to ask them for the credit. What to ask your insurer.
Why this Class 4 shingle and not another
Two ways to reach Class 4. Only one of them suits Houston.
SBS-modified asphalt
A polymer is blended into the asphalt so it stays pliable and deforms under impact rather than cracking. It works, and it is how several Class 4 shingles earn the rating — including one in GAF's own Timberline range.
In our experience on Houston roofs, SBS-modified shingles are more prone to blistering in sustained heat. We stopped installing them for that reason.
UltraMat reinforced mat
UHDZ reaches Class 4 a different way — a heavier, thicker fiberglass mat engineered for impact, strengthening the shingle at its core rather than softening the asphalt around it.
Same Class 4 rating. No pliable asphalt layer to blister when an attic runs at 140°F in August.
This is the kind of decision that only comes from watching roofs age in one climate for thirteen years. A shingle that performs beautifully in Ohio is not automatically the right shingle for the Gulf Coast.
01
Lifetime shingle coverage
GAF's limited warranty on Timberline shingles runs for as long as you own the home, against manufacturing defects.
02
50-year non-prorated period
The Smart Choice Protection Period — the window in which coverage is not reduced by age. Fifty years on System Plus registrations and above, against ten on a standard warranty.
03
Workmanship covered by GAF
Not just by us. On Golden Pledge with Timberline UHDZ that is 30 years non-prorated, backed by GAF rather than resting on whether a contractor is still trading. Silver Pledge, by comparison, carries 10.
04
WindProven — no wind speed cap
On LayerLock-labelled shingles, GAF's WindProven limited wind warranty carries no maximum wind speed limitation. On the Gulf Coast that is the number worth having.
05
Tear-off and disposal included
Covered from System Plus upward. On a standard warranty they are not — which is a real cost if a claim ever needs making.
06
30-year algae protection
UHDZ carries StainGuard Plus PRO — a 30-year limited warranty against blue-green algae staining, which Houston humidity makes a genuine problem rather than a cosmetic footnote.
Why most contractors cannot offer this
Golden Pledge requires a Master Elite contractor — roughly 2% of US roofers — plus five qualifying GAF accessory products installed as a system. It is not something a contractor can add to a quote; either they hold the certification and install the full system, or they cannot register it at all.
The 30-year non-prorated workmanship figure applies specifically to Timberline UHDZ and Timberline AS II. UHDZ is what we install, which is why that is the number on your paperwork rather than the 25 years the other Timberline lines carry.
Ask any contractor bidding your claim which pledge they register and which shingle it applies to. The answer tells you a great deal.
On every claim replacement
Three things we upgrade whether the scope asks for them or not
An insurance scope pays to replace what was there. These are the places where replacing like for like puts you back where you started. Houston storm damage roof repair experts.
Impact-resistant shingles, always
If you had architectural shingles, you get Timberline UHDZ — Class 4, the highest impact rating there is.
If you had 3-tab, you get a Class 3 impact-resistant shingle. Still a substantial step up from 3-tab, which carries no impact rating worth the name.
Nobody gets put back on the shingle that just failed.
Ventilation, corrected
Attic heat is what ages a Houston roof from underneath. We upgrade the ventilation on every replacement — and where a house has no soffit vents, or the insulation is blocking them, we fit O'Hagin low-profile intake vents through the deck instead.
Balanced airflow without soffit or under-eave venting. Most contractors simply put back whatever was there and leave the attic as hot as it was.
Pivot pipe boots, as standard
Pipe penetrations are among the most common leak points on any roof, and a standard rubber boot is usually the first thing to fail. We fit GAF Master Flow pivot pipe boots on every job.
No extra charge, and not something you will find itemised on an insurance scope.
Terms are GAF's and subject to their published limitations. Class 4 applies to UHDZ shingles bearing the UltraMat logo and UL 2218 classification; the test is performed under controlled laboratory conditions and GAF makes no warranty about performance against hail, which is not covered by the limited warranty. Full comparison at gaf.com.
What happens next
From Your Call to a Finished Roof
You file the claim. We handle the roof and the evidence it runs on. Houston's Storm Damage Roof Repair Experts.
-
1
We stop the water
Typical response 2 to 4 hours, any day of the year. Tarping and emergency measures come first — every hour water is entering makes the interior damage worse and the claim more complicated.
-
2
Full inspection, documented slope by slope
Every elevation photographed, damage marked, decking and flashing assessed, attic checked where there is access. You get the photographs and a written summary whether or not you file, and whether or not you use us.
-
3
You report it to your insurer
You make that call — a contractor cannot file on your behalf. Our documentation means you are describing something specific rather than guessing. What to say when you call.
-
4
We meet your adjuster on the roof
So both parties assess the same damage at the same time, from the same vantage point. Most scope disputes come from two people looking at a roof separately and reaching different conclusions.
-
5
You compare the scope to our estimate
If the insurer's scope is missing items — decking, code upgrades, flashing quantities — we document the gap so you can submit a supplement. That is common and normal.
-
6
We build the roof
Golden Pledge system with Timberline UHDZ, registered with GAF on completion. Final inspection, magnet sweep, and the paperwork you need to release your recoverable depreciation.
Where we stop
We are roofers, not public adjusters. We do not file claims, negotiate settlements, or represent you to your insurer — in Texas that work is reserved to licensed public adjusters, and a roofer offering to do it is offering something they are not licensed for.
What we do is produce documentation good enough that the claim is judged on what is actually on your roof. That is the part we control, and it is the part that matters. Houston's Storm Damage Roof Repair Experts.
Paying the deductible
Claim Approved, Deductible in the Way?
The most common reason an approved roof claim stalls. The insurer has agreed to pay, the roof needs doing, and the deductible — often $2,000 to $5,000, or a percentage of your dwelling coverage — is not sitting in the account this month.
It can be financed like any other roofing cost, which lets the work start while the claim proceeds. Promotional 0% APR for 18 months is available to qualified applicants through the Wells Fargo Home Projects credit card, issued by Wells Fargo Bank, N.A. Subject to credit approval; terms are set by the lender and can change.
To be clear about what this is. Texas law prohibits a roofing contractor from paying, waiving, absorbing or rebating a homeowner's insurance deductible. Any contractor offering to “cover your deductible” or “work with whatever insurance pays” is proposing something illegal, and it puts your claim at risk as well as theirs.
Financing is different: you pay your deductible in full, over time rather than at once. That is an ordinary consumer credit arrangement.
Common questions
Storm Damage Questions, Answered
How fast can you get here?
Typically 2 to 4 hours, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. After a major storm that stretches — when thousands of roofs are damaged at once, everybody's does.
We prioritize active water intrusion. If it is raining into your house, say so when you call.
My roof looks fine. Could it still be damaged?
Frequently, yes. Hail bruises rather than punctures — it crushes the granules and shortens shingle life without breaking the surface. A roof hit in April can look untouched from the driveway and start leaking in October.
Check for granules in the gutters, and dents on soft metal — vents, flashing, the mailbox, air-conditioning fins. If those are dented, the roof took the same impact.
Should I file a claim?
Not always. If the damage is close to your deductible, filing may cost you more in premium and claims history than it returns.
We will inspect and tell you honestly what we find, including when our answer is that you probably do not have a claim worth filing. A contractor who encourages every homeowner to file is not looking after your interests.
Do you handle the claim for me?
No. Filing, negotiating and settling a claim is the work of a licensed public adjuster, and in Texas a roofer cannot do it. Anyone who offers to is offering something they are not licensed for.
What we do: inspect, document slope by slope, produce an itemised scope, and meet your adjuster on the roof. How the process works.
What if the insurer's payment does not cover the work?
Common, and it has a name — a supplement. Adjusters work from one visit and a standard pricing database, so decking, code upgrades and flashing quantities are often missed.
We document the gap so you can submit it. What we will not do is quietly cut scope to fit the check — that is how a roof ends up without its leak barrier.
I have 3-tab shingles. What do I get?
A Class 3 impact-resistant shingle — a substantial step up from 3-tab, which carries no meaningful impact rating. Homes that had architectural shingles get Class 4 Timberline UHDZ.
Either way, nobody gets put back on the shingle that just failed. We also upgrade the ventilation on every replacement — fitting O'Hagin low-profile intake vents where a house has no soffit venting or the insulation is blocking it — and fit GAF Master Flow pivot pipe boots, since pipe penetrations are among the most common places a roof starts leaking.
Why UHDZ rather than another Class 4 shingle?
There are two ways a shingle reaches Class 4. One blends a polymer into the asphalt — SBS-modified — so it stays pliable and deforms under impact instead of cracking. The other reinforces the shingle's core with a heavier fiberglass mat, which is how UHDZ does it.
Both earn the rating. But in our experience on Houston roofs, SBS-modified shingles are more prone to blistering in sustained heat, and we stopped installing them for that reason. UltraMat gets the same Class 4 rating without a pliable asphalt layer to blister when an attic runs at 140°F.
Which warranty do I get on an insurance job?
GAF Golden Pledge with Timberline UHDZ — lifetime shingle coverage, a 50-year non-prorated protection period, and 30 years of non-prorated workmanship coverage backed by GAF, not just by us.
Golden Pledge can only be registered by a GAF Master Elite contractor installing five qualifying accessory products. Ask any contractor bidding your claim which pledge they register.
UHDZ also carries a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating — the highest of the four classes — which matters when most Houston claims are hail claims. It also attracts the highest insurance credit of the four classes, though how much is set by your carrier rather than the state. What UL 2218 and the Texas discount actually mean.

Excellent service. We are very happy with their work and customer service. They explained the entire roof replacement process to us. On the day they said they would do the work, they were on time and finished it. The next day, Christian came and checked that everything had been done correctly. We highly recommend them. They are a serious and responsible company.

Went on Angi's List to find a roofers to fix leaks coming into home. Had several come out but JC&C put a temporary fix on during a rainy spell. They were our third, but we went wirh them immediately. Then on top of that, they provided 3 estimates. Damage now up to improvements that would be needed down the road. Finally had it done in under a day. Don't go anywhere else!Posted on Google![]()

I had a great experience with the JC&C team. Like many homeowners, I got several quotes after discovering a roof leak that needed immediate attention. The first company I met with told me I needed a full roof replacement and quoted me around $20,000. When I met with the team at JC&C, I explained that I had just purchased my first home and wasn't prepared for such a major expense right after my down payment. I even shared what the other company had quoted me (which, in hindsight, probably wasn't the best idea!). Instead of taking advantage of the situation, they gave me an honest assessment and recommended only the repairs that were actually needed. Their quote came in at just a few thousand dollars, and that level of honesty and integrity spoke volumes. The entire process was seamless, the work was completed professionally, and I haven't had a single issue with the leak since. I'm incredibly grateful I found JC&C and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone—especially first-time homeowners who are still learning the ins and outs of homeownership. It's refreshing to work with a company you can truly trust. Thank you, JC&C team!Posted on Google![]()

Highly professional, my ceiling suddenly caved in due to roof leak. they came out during torrential rains and installed temporary tarps immediately without asking for a pricing or any other conditions. This act of kindness won my heart and I decided to work with them. From start to finish they completed the project as per building codes, using preselected materials and highly trained team of workers. They documented each phase of their work with 2000 + photo album of the project. I thank the friend who referred them and so I to the public at large. Had a new roof and gutters installed in 2021. Excellent service. Have referred two neighbors. Recently, we had hail in May 2026. JC&C Roofing called to do an inspection of the 2021 roof. They found minor damage to a few shingles and he noticed gutter's needed to be blown. His office will be scheduling the work this week. We are pleased and HAPPY. Repair an Asphalt Shingle Roof JC&C was great with communication, especially in terms of the estimate, what exactly would be done and when, and with payment. All of the work was done within a single day. They took pains to lay down tarps and plywood to protect the landscape and the windows. They also provided access to a customer portal with photos of the repair and installation of the new roof step by stop. It was a great, quick, and efficient experience.Posted on Yelp![]()

I initially came across JC&C via a KPRC news story where they assisted a customer with a roof replacement issue. The way they took care of the customer and the great work they did made me take note. Some time after that I ended up using them for several minor roof repairs of my own. They showed up on time for both estimate (price was fair) and repairs. They worked quickly and cleaned up was spotless. I would definitely consider JC&C as my first choice when ready to replace my roof.Posted on Yelp![]()

I want to share my experience with JC&C roofing. As you know, after the last hurricane Beryl, with all the damage to the roofs, it has been almost impossible to find anybody to come and fix things. I called the people who roofed my house and they said that they could not come and would not know when they would. Walking down my neighborhood on Thursday, I saw a truck of JC&C working on a roof. I came to talk to them and told them that I had a relatively small job in my house (the cap of an exhaust pipe had been blown up during the hurricane). He said that is was dangerous to fix it then because it was raining, but that they would come as soon as possible. Well, that meant two days later and now my roof is fixed! Thank you Mr. Paniagua!Posted on Yelp![]()

On a visit to my elderly parents who live in Sugarland, I live in Austin, I found that a filled rain gutter had been flowing in the wrong direction and caused the end piece of the roof eave and soffit to rot. Being remote, I had to get onto Yelp and try to find a company that could rebuild the soffit, fix bad flashing, and put in a new gutter. This led me to JC&C and they did a fantastic job. From the moment I called them to see if they could handle this type of job, they were in constant contact through: email, text and direct phone calls. They gave me estimated times for the inspection-bid as well as the service and they showed up on time. In addition, they have online pictures (where I got these that I'm posting) of the inspection, during the construction, and the completed project. These pictures assured me of the quality of their work, from my remote home. And although they don't do gutters, part of their bid included gutter replacement which they subcontracted out and I didn't have to go searching for a gutter company. Very pleased with JC&C.+1Posted on Yelp![]()

Let me tell you all of the reasons that JC&C Roofing is the way to go for the most important investment you will put on your house. 1 - Product Knowledge. Christian, the owner, came out to provide a quote. He took some measurements and then scheduled a time to come back and deliver his proposal. This allowed him time to compile all of the data and figures to ensure that the quote given is the final price without any hidden expenses. They have several products the offer and will provide detailed quotes and a plethora of information about everything they sell. 2 - Production. Once we decided on the product package we wanted, which was the Diamond Package (thank God for financing). Christian had a crew swarm on our house the very next day. The worked so hard and got 99% of the job done on the first day. The next morning they were back out to finish the last minute touches. The owner was onsite for most of the project, checking in that I was happy with the work and always asking if I had any questions or concerns. 3 - Service. I can't rave enough about Christian. So rare is it to find someone that is polite, kind, funny, honest, and just an overall good person. Christian is good people. Plain and simple. I honestly feel like he treated us like he would want to be treated and I have a great amount of respect for his customer service, dedication to his craft, and earning the respect of those around him. I am confident that if I should have any issues in the near future with this new amazing looking roof, that he would be back out in a hot second to take care of me. Great Product. Great Company. Great Owner. Great Team. Great Job!! A++Posted on Angie's List![]()

Fixed all the issues and gave us a brand new roof that is so gorgeous I believe my neighbors are jealous. Christian also added attic vents and took down old satalite dishes at no charge. The kicker was he also had someone come by and pressure wash the house and drive way with no extra charge. Christian stated any problems just to contact him. I discovered several shingles in my backyard after some recent heavy storms in our area and I was concerned for the integrity of our roof. I scheduled an appointment for a roof inspection through JC&C's website and received two emails confirming the appointment. Abraham Barrera performed the inspection, was prompt, courteous, and thorough. He called 45 minutes before arrival, took a number of photos of our roof so we would have proof of any issues, and also inspected an exhaust pipe for our water heater that we had some concerns about. It turned out that the shingles I found in our yard were actually from the neighbor's roof and our roof was fine. Abraham sent us the photos he took even though no work needed to be done and the INSPECTION WAS FREE. I told him I would let our neighbors know about their roof and Abraham gave us a business card to pass along. I don't know how expensive (or not) their repair costs are, but I would definitely hire them to work on our roof in the future.Posted on Angie's List![]()

We had a major hail storm come through our area and the damage was so extensive that our roof needed to be replaced completely and the house needed a lot of cosmetic repair. When you have major work like this that needs to be done, it's never fun to hassle with insurance claims etc. and the business responsible for fixing the damage. My experience with Christian and the men who worked on my house was exceptional. I can truly say that the process was so much smoother on their end than I could have possibly anticipated. I was very impressed with the communication and responsiveness of Christian. He stopped by numerous times to check on the progress and to update me. All the men who worked on my house were very professional and courteous. I will absolutely use this company again for any needs concerning the upkeep of my home. I feel that I've found a business that I can trust and I know will do an amazing job. The house looks new.
